In the contemporary area, many argue that the government should invest money in artists, believing that this is a wise choice to develop the country. However, others argue that this kind of spending is wasteful and I believe this waste should not happen by virtue of two remarkable reasons
There are several reasons why people might argue that spending money on artists has many essential positives. The first significant merit of spending money on artists is that it contributes to the economical development of the country. For instance, it can be seen that Japan is the country that invests heavily in comics and music and this gives a remarkable rise in the number of audiences leading to a rapid increase in sales and attracting many tourists to travel. An additional strong point that spending money on artists can offer is the usefulness for workers. It yields a great deal of labor opportunities for residents from manual to professional individuals. Consequently, not only is this a means of entertainment for residents but it also contributes to improving their labor productivity and Japanese GDP.
In spite of the aforementioned aspects, I support the view that investing in artists is a waste of money. I believe this is a misallocation of resources. In today’s digital era, there are many issues that need more investment and it is inevitable to enhance citizen’s living. In a little more detail, the government needs to provide money to improve facilities for rural inhabitants and school allowance. In addition, there are many components that need more investment such as science, health, and education. These are important areas in a country that need attention and more comprehensive development. Therefore, instead of wasting on artists the government should use this money on more useful things.
