While some societies think that the government should pay for public medical treatments, independents should pay for their own healthcare costs. This essay discusses both views, followed by my opinion.
The government should be responsible for providing free healthcare because lower communities cannot afford healthcare as well as they should provide free healthcare to prevent the spread of infectious diseases, as some people’s wages are very low and cannot afford high medical treatments. They may avoid visiting hospitals, which also allows infectious diseases to spread to others. For instance, some people with serious illnesses may avoid visiting a hospital, allowing their health to become worse and also putting other people at risk of infection.
Individuals should use medical services responsibly, as they may use hospitals more than necessary, and this wastes time and resources. For instance, some people visit a doctor for minor health problems that they could manage at home. Another reason is that it improves the quality of healthcare, as the money collected from patients gives hospitals leverage. Like, hospitals can use this money to buy modern medical machines and maintain their facilities.
I think the government should pay for public healthcare to improve the overall health of the population, as free healthcare encourages people to attend regular medical check-ups and identify health problems before they become serious, such as receiving regular check-ups to identify serious conditions at an early stage. As a result, a healthier population can contribute to the country’s economic growth.
Although there are some points for why individuals should pay for their own medical treatments, I believe the government should take greater responsibility for providing healthcare, as it can improve the overall health of the population.
