It is stated that hazardous sports should be prohibited. It is argued that the state should put a ban in these unsafe activities, while some individuals are free to take part in such sports. I strongly agree that the government should not allow any participation in these sports activities.
Advocates for banning dangerous sports argue that it is the government’s responsibility to protect citizens from harm. These kinds of activities carry some inherent risks that can lead to severe fatalities and injuries. Consequently, increasing the economic burden on the state, mostly on the healthcare systems and having unnecessary loss of live. For example, skydiving involves risky jumping in the air with a parachute from a plane, could be associated with multiple risks and injuries. Banning this precarious physical activity, could reduce the strain on emergency services. Restricting access to these kinds of sports would discourage people from practicing them. For example, many young people are easily influenced by movies or online videos where dangerous acts are being performed by professionals. Therefore, they are tempted to try this. This can also seen as a way to protect individuals, especially, youngsters, from being influenced by risky behaviors.
On the other hand, it is argued that people are free to practice any sports which he likes. They should have the right to make their own choices and they are accountable for their own actions. The government have no right to infringe an individual’s life. Instead of complete ban, some state that implementing stringent regulations and safety standard would be more appropriate. This approach allows people to engage in these activities while minimizing the risks through proper precautions and oversight.
In conclusion, while some believe that everyone has the right to choose what activities they partake in, I believe it is the government’s duty to protect its citizens from harm, and consequently they should ban extreme sports.
