A number of individuals believe that authorities must spend financial reserves to encourage people to live a healthy life, while others argue that individuals should take care of their body and fitness themselves. Although government can spend to promote awareness among people by effectively spending funds, I believe that it is the duty of a person to look after their wellness.
On the one hand, awareness can be raised among society about the benefits of being physically fit and mentally stable. In other words, such initiatives can not only motivate the citizens of a nation to workout regularly, but also it offers assistance in lowering the number of people suffering from health related illnesses, such as obesity and high blood pressure. Additionally, government can use public money to build new facilities where people can perform practices to enhance their physical fitness. For instance, public parks and gyms were setup in numerous cities in India for the locals to do exercise. However, I content that a lot of financial support is needed to install such amenities for people.
On the other hand, it is thought that it is the moral obligation of a person to care for themselves, as government cannot persuade people to become healthy if they are not willing to do so. To be more precise, it will be entirely the wastage of collected money from people because no one can make other person to opt for healthy alternatives because it is their on choice. Therefore, public should themselves opt for healthier food choices and do workout on daily basis. For these reasons, I believe that this option is more preferable because monetary funds can be used efficiently for other purposes, which requires immediate attention.
In conclusion, despite the fact that a healthy and wealthy society can be build if government use money for public awareness, I strongly believe that an individual can become healthy when they really desire to become.
