It is sometimes argued that high school students should be made to do work in their local communities. While I disagree with the idea of making such programs compulsory, I do believe that voluntary community service could benefit young people.
There are several reasons why I would argue against having compulsory community service for secondary school. Firstly, they have lots of subjects whose academic syllabus is so huge, such as math, physics, chemistry, business, the arts, science. For example, I remember having extremely busy timetables when I was in high school, and it would have been not possible to do extra work that is only time waste and couldn’t attention on my academic study; if I did community service during class time, then my semester result would be bad. Secondly, students would perform in other subjects, and they would charity work with their neighborhood that they would improve schemes. Finally, I believe that students would work their own will; if anyone forced them, then they would lose their motivation and behavior.
On the other hand, the opportunity to do voluntary community service could be extremely positive for high school students. But this would be optional when anyone thinks it would be better, then they will continue this work; instead, if they think it is not crucial, then they would prevent this work. However, I think if they would get extra time with their academic study, then they should appear in voluntary community service that would get better benefit in their life; for example, they would get an extra curriculum certificate, solve health problems, develop skills, and enjoy themselves with their friends and teachers. Finally, I would like to say it will be a very advantage in their future when they go another step; it would help to solve their problem.
In conclusion, I think it is a better way to do anything in their own will; it would help in every situation, whereas comprehensive complusory are not a possible way to find out anything or develop skills.
