In modern age, people, especially young people tend to use more computers and mobile phones. This creates a negative effect on younger generations reading and writing skill. So, I agree with the given Statement that “Increasing communication usages like computers and mobile phones has had a negative effect on young people’s reading and writing skill”.
Firstly, due to frequent use of computers and mobile phones young people tend to write less on papers and type more their computers and mobile phones. Where they uses shortcuts and short version of texts to communicate with other people. Which is creating a negative impact on their writing skill. Not only that, these modem technologies have has been programmed to auto correct any wrong word and fix grammatical errors while typing. So, instead of knowing the actual spelling and way of creating a sentence these young people are communicating with each other using auto-correct software’s or using AI.
Secondly, due to development of technology, young people cam access online portals, PDF or sites to read what they want Which is a good thing as young people can gather knowledge easily. But due to this online access, reading books or the habit of reading hard printed copies by the younger generation is declining. Which is creating a negative effect on them, as it creates a tendency for young people to surf other online pages than what they actually wanted. Not only that, people can’t feel what they read online, which causes emotional problems and makes hard to express their feelings. It’s Creating a negative effect over people.
Even though the current generation is based on technology specially computers and telephones and we need them on our everyday life. It has both positive impact and negative impacts but excessive use causes harm to this young Peoples mental and physical health. It creates negative impact on writing and reading skills.
In conclusion, it can be agreed that using more computers and mobile phones for communication by young people has had a negative effect on their writing and reading skills, as using more technological products make young people to depend more on technology and AI based products. For which, instead of knowing the actual thing they are knowing many side information’s.
