Having a pet or several is a quite popular among people who want and can take care of someone smaller and fluffer (not necessarily). Many families have pets – this is a common phenomenon. Some get them to make things more fun, interesting and calm, because the presence of a small animal always creates an aure of peace. Others get a pet so that they don’t feel so lonely or abandoned. Others understand that can feed not only the whole family, but also others, so they share this bread with animals. However, there are those people who don’t want and see the point in keeping pets because they understand the responsibility and the burden. And for others it can be dangerous if the family has a small child that is allergic to fur.
On the other hand, many believe and I am a supporter of this idea, that having pets is beneficial for raising children. First of all, an animal is a responsibility: feeding in time, pouring the right food in the right amount, cleaning up after it, treating it, walking it – all this work that teaches a child to take care of another living creature. In addition, pets can provide fun company. Moreover, communication with animals can help children develop compassion and kindness not only towards the animals themselves, but also towards people. Children who grow up with animals often feel less lonely and more confident.
On the other hand, some believe that keeping pets can be dangerous and harmful to health. Sometimes, during games, when excited or nervous, animals can bite or hit a child, especially if the child provokes them. Another rather serious problem is that animals can spread diseases and cause allergies. Some children and adults are allergic to animal fur, which can lead to breathing problems or skin irritation. In addition, pets require a lot of time, attention and money, and all this can be a certain burden for these families.
In conclusion, although pets can sometimes pose a health or safety risk, they can also help children learn responsibility, compassion and kindness. So, in my opinion, keeping pets is generally positive for children, as long as it is done responsibly.
