In contemporary times, the debate over which gender possesses a higher rivalry spirit is ongoing. Many individuals argue that males are inherently more ambitious than females. This essay supports the perspective that gentlemen exhibit more challenging attitudes.
To begin with, despite women being perceived as soft-hearted, they strive to showcase their innate style through fashion. A good sense of fashion inspires individuals to dress appropriately, appear presentable and attractive, and avoid looking unkempt. Women aim to outshine others at every occasion or event they attend, highlighting their naturally competitive spirit. In western Nigeria, for example, women attend weddings with the goal of being the best-dressed guest, leading them to boast about their attire. These are the reasons why many believe that women possess greater competitive attitudes.
However, despite women’s efforts to demonstrate their competitive spirit, men still surpass them in this aspect. Ego and pride are among the factors contributing to men’s higher level of ambition. Men inherently possess more pride, a trait instilled in them from birth. This inherent ego boosts their self-esteem, fueling their competitiveness and drive to achieve excellence. In Eastern Nigeria, for instance, all men in the region believe in their superiority within their families. The desire to maintain this status motivates them to strive for providing essential family needs and to avoid being the least successful among their peers. These reasons illustrate why men are stronger contenders than women.
In conclusion, while women may face less struggle to excel, men are inherently competitive. I wholeheartedly agree that males are naturally better contenders and possess a spirited drive.
