It is true that males and females have their own duties in the world. However, some claim that man are innately more competitive than women. In my perspective, I strongly disagree with this point of view. In this essay, I am going to explain my position by presenting, first, gender equality, then, difficulties that women have faced.
In terms of gender equality, there are more and more policies advocating women’s rights rather than in the past. To demonstrate, in the past, women were not allowed to go to schools, not alone attending in competitions. However, nowadays, women’s rights are recognized widely. As a consequence, women have a great deal of chances to develop themselves and get out of their comfort zones. For example, in Vietnam, after the feudal era, women engaged in learning, researching, running businesses, and exploring themselves. As a result, there is no longer distinction between men and women.
In terms of difficulties that women have faced, it is challenging for them to overcome. To illustrate, in the past, women took responsibility for household chores and bringing up children, while most jobs such as building houses or earning money were mainly done by men. As a result, females did not have opportunities to enhance their competitiveness. However, there are some women who demonstrated by compelling reasons that they could do everything the same as men, regardless of the difficulties. For instance, Nguyen Thi Binh was a great Vietnamese woman, who represented Vietnam to negotiate in the Paris Peace Accords.
In conclusion, I have discussed the gender equality and difficulties that women have faced. In my opinion, I strongly disagree with the idea that men are innately more competitive than women.
