With the rise of modern technologies, there has been considerable discussion regarding the most effective way of accessing news, as some people complain that newspapers are primary source of news, while others argue that they are more alternative forms of media offer a more efficient way to stay informed. In this essay, I will consider both views and give my personal opinion.
One of the main arguments in favor of newspapers is that there are produced by organizations mostly with high reputation with established standards. Which means, that news is usually checked, and sources are verified, proving that information is trustful and reliable. Moreover, reading a physical newspaper stimulates our ability to focus on crucial details and facts, compared to media. Which has mass of worthless notifications and distractions related to advertisement, which disturb us to pay our attention to the content fully. On the other hand, newspapers have lack of speed, unlike digital news, which can be renewed in real time, also, newspapers published only once in a week. Which means, they cannot offer intensy, except digital platforms or social media.
In contrast, digital platforms allow real time reporting, that means users can access breaking news. This immediacy is a striking advantage over traditional method of reading news like newspapers, which might have delays in reporting. Meanwhile, it should be noticed as well that social media frequently share unchecked or uninsured information. Moreover, false information spreads quickly, causing mass confusion and misinformation.
In conclusion, while this topic is widely discussed among millions of people, I believe that it depends of persons preferences and desire to read news either through traditional newspapers or modern social media platforms, which has both positive and negative consequences.
