A share of individuals think that professional sports players can be role model for the youth, whereas others believe they do not. This essay considers two beliefs and provides my personal viewpoint.
A number of scientists have shown that in recent years there have been significant changes in social patterns. As a result, one trend seems to become more and more common. Referring to some potentially positive outcomes of that tendency, some evidence indicates that the athletes make influence for offspring because if the young people have ambition for success, they can give them motivation. Thus, nobody can deny that it is exceedingly difficult to replace these entirely.
However, some opponents who state that the young people should take inspiration from educated members of society may deem the previous viewpoint questionable. Of crucial importance is how to define the matter in question. It is often said that the education is more important than sport career for the youth. Although social and economic dimensions of effects are distinct, they are more closely interrelated than other dimensions. Nevertheless, it is necessary to take into account all the details of each individual case.
From my point of view, the former opinion is definitely more persuasive, as it follows from my own experience, for I am a professional volleyball player. Although, an attitude to this issue may always depend on a particular profession and academic qualification.
