In recent days, there has sparked a vigorous debate in the community about whether the government takes charge of residents’ health or whether it fully depends on owners. This essay aims to evaluate both notions prior to concluding that it would be better if both groups share the responsibility in this facet.
On the one hand, the government’s subsidy assists individuals with approaching healthcare aspects easier. In fact, the current society is divided into various sorts of socio-economic backgrounds, thereby some parts of which are unable to afford these services. Owing to the fact that healthcare services charge the prohibitively expensive price, hindering the lower class from experiencing these due to a lack of paying ability. In this way, parts of citizens’ well-being will be deteriorated by having rare regular check-ups, thereby the degradation of health status in the community is increasingly prevalent, leading to a profound impact on the national economy as the poor constitute a core part of the workforce. Hence, they will be unable to dedicate themselves to national advancement if workers encounter illness in case of an appropriate treatment lack, thereby alleviating the working productivity, which detrimentally influences the economy.
On the other hand, patients should bear responsibility for their health status as they directly suffer from health problems encountered. To clarify, individuals own their health; therefore, taking care of medical aspects constitutes their duty. For this reason, they should prioritize allocating monetary sources for healthcare to ensure their well-being, which contributes to better treatment strategies in case of detecting diseases. When delaying diagnosis of certain conditions, it is challenging for doctors to make an appropriate prescription and diagnosis. Cancer is taken as a prime example. If cancer cells metastasize widely throughout the body, it will provide challenges for doctors to prolong the lifespan. Therefore, it is in individuals’ interest to invest monetary resources in healthcare services to ensure their well-being, mitigating adverse outcomes.
In conclusion, I wholeheartedly believe that both the government and individuals should share the responsibility to attain better results as the government’s support can alleviate the financial burdens of citizens and citizens should be aware of their own health.
