It is generally believed that children studying at school are better be obligated to participate in a variety of unpaid social activities after lessons. I partially agree with that statement and my arguments will be elaborated in following paragraphs.
On the one hand, children could improve their soft skills by attending some works like that. What I mention is that there could be less children with social anxiety because they always will be in need to cooperate with other people. It could be also great experience for them because they could find new friends or have time while doing range of tasks. In addition, this could also make children more responsible. Nowadays children sometimes do not know what commitment does mean. I think we should foster this quality in future generation. Thus if we start to require children in social works, they raise accountable.
On the other hand, this is breaking children’s rights. Every human being has their own rights which should be defended. And this kind of act can affect children’s self-worth by making them to do something without their agreement. This can make children forget their rights on their own life and rights on making decision by forcing them to do some work without their permission and even payment. Another point worth mentioning is that children would not only have their lessons and homework but also additional tasks. That can be too overwhelming for our little ones. By the way, children’s organism and mental health is weaker than adult’s hence too much duty for them can make a fatal outcome for them. Nothing worth people’s lives and health.
In conclusion although it is true that requiring children to do social works will make them responsible, we should also consider that it can affect bad on their mental health.
