Some people claim that educational institution ought to teach children to avoid processed food while others believe that parents should be responsible for their children’s eating habits. In this essay, I will discuss both views and give some relevant examples in the upcoming paragraph.
On the one hand, there are some reasons for why school plays an important role of children’s eating habits. To begin with, schools can teach students about health nutrition and the negative effects of excessive sugar, salt and fat. As a result, this prevention can help children avoid unhealthy options such as fast food, hamburger and snacks. For example, in the canteen, chiefs should not prepare junk foods as it would be more beneficial for their health. Moreover, children spend most of their time at school, thus teachers can influence their daily habits and behaviour. If teachers do not pay attention to their eating habits in the classroom environment, children might not consume healthy meals. So, this is the most practical way of learning eating healthy food for children.
On the other hand, we can see that some possible ways should be done by children’s parents. First of all, parents know their children’s individual nutritional needs, preferences and health conditions better than schools. Thus, in this way, parents ought to be more careful to plan their children’s daily eating habits as one unhealthy food leads some health problems. Furthermore, eating habits are developed mainly within the family, so parents should set a good example. Consequently, it can influence children’s eating behaviour because children can see what their parents eat or buy.
To conclude, in my opinion, both have a role, but parents should have the primarily responsibility, while schools support them through nutrition education and healthier food options
