Some people believe that school should encourage children to avoid junk food, while others think that parents should be responsible for their children what they eat. In this essay, I will discuss both perspectives before explaining why parents have main responsibility.
On the one hand, schools can play a crucial role in helping children to develop healthy habits. When they started to spend most of their time at schools, teachers should educate that about the importance of balanced diet. In addition, schools can stop selling unhealthy snacks and provide healthy food instead. For example, if school worker offer fruits and fresh meals instead of chips and fizzy drinks, they may have tendency to eat healthier food.
On the other hand, I believe that parents ought to be mainly responsible because they have more control over their children’s daily diet. Parent usually buy food, groceries and decide what is available at home. As a result, they have a great influence to children’ eating habits that school. Moreover, children often copy tier parents’ behaviors. For instance, if parents regularly prepare healthy food and avoid eating fast food, their children can develop similar habits.
In conclusion, although schools can encourage children to eat healthy food through education and school rules, I believe that parents should take the main responsibility because they make almost all decisions about their children’s diet. However, working with school and parents together would be the best way for children.
