Nowadays, modern technology plays an important role in education. Some people argue that schools should replace traditional books that students find uninteresting with modern media such as movies, television shows, video games, and computers. In my opinion, I partly agree with this view because while digital media can make learning more engaging, books are still essential for developing deep knowledge.
On the one hand, using digital media and technology in the classroom has several benefits for students. Firstly, visual media like educational films, TV programs, and interactive games can make difficult topics much easier to understand. For example, watching a documentary about historical events can help students remember facts better than reading long chapters in a textbook. Secondly, video games and computer programs can make learning fun and interactive, which keeps children motivated. When students are entertained, they pay more attention and are less likely to get bored during lessons.
On the other hand, replacing books completely would be a mistake. Reading books helps children build crucial academic skills, such as reading comprehension, concentration, and critical thinking. When children read books, they have to use their imagination to visualize ideas, which develops their creativity. In contrast, watching a movie or playing a computer game provides ready-made images, so students do not need to think as deeply. Furthermore, reading complex books prepares students for university and future careers where they will need to analyze written information carefully.
In conclusion, I believe that schools should not stop using books entirely, even if students sometimes find them boring. Instead, teachers should use a balanced approach by combining traditional textbooks with modern media to make lessons both educational and interesting
