Band 5+: Some people think that scientists should send messages into space to communicate with other life forms while others believe this is dangerous. Discuss both views and give your opinion?

Note: Both the topic and the essay were created by one of our users.

It is well known that scientists send signals to outer space to communicate with alien species. While the majority of folks are in the favour of this statement due to its number of merits, some of people highlight its demerits first. This essay intends to discuss both opinions, along with my point of view which is in the favour of the former in further paragraphs.

The first advantage of sending messages to space is that we should discover other universe around the earth when pulsating signals. For instance, celestial bodies such as massive black holes, galaxies and earth-like planets might be discovered. This could bring about extensive knowledge for humans in the space discovery. Another benefit is the fact that if we find an existing planet, but now it is extinct. We might learn lessons to prevent the same destiny from happening with our earth.

Despite these positive developments, I admit that the earth could be in danger as we try to interact with the outer space. Along with that, we might not find out other life forms in space as our signals can not reach them, which means these species are too powerful. It is said by an analogy that humans are like ants that living on the sidewalk and we do not know intelligent humans on the other side. This means bothering them could lead to major impacts to the earth if those creatures are aggressive and attack humans.

To sum up, I believe that there are several advantages for sending signals to communicate with other living forms out of the earth. However, it will depend upon the mindsets of people that which view they are in the favor of.

Some people believe that the internet has made it easier to stay in touch with others. While, others think that internet influences us to remain alone and not socialise. I strongly disagree with the latter half of the statement because the services provided by the web such as social media actually promote more engagement. The […]
