Nowadays, more and more students prefer to get an education in other cities and even other countries. This choice has both benefits and drawbacks. In this essay, I will discuss both sides and give my own opinion.
On the one hand, studying away from home gives a lot of opportunities. Firstly, the students become more independent. They have to solve problems on their own and manage resources like time and money. This helps to grow up faster.
Secondly, studying in other cities means that they will be given lecturers who are experts in their fields. Moreover, they will gain significant life experiences that will reward them later on in their careers.
On the other hand, there are several downsides. The greatest one is separation from family. For most students, it would be challenging to live without parental support, which can be awkward and quite scary. Another disadvantage is financial difficulties. Studying away from their hometown is very costly.
In conclusion, although studying far from home comes with some difficulties, it also provides students with important life skills and opens new perspectives. So, in my view, the benefits of this trend surpass the disadvantages.
