Band 5+: Traditional art forms are becoming less popular among young people. Why is this happening? What can be done to encourage interest in traditional art? Give reasons for your answers and include relevant examples from your own experience.

Conventional art is becoming unpopular among teenagers. The main factors for these are the influence of digital entertainment and lack of patience. Moreover, to encourage young people in traditional art, governments should reduce academic pressure.

Traditional art has little popularity among teenagers. The first reason for this is digital entertainment which relies heavily on smartphones. This is because, nowadays many young people spend more time scrolling, using social media and other entertainment resources that keep them familiar surroundings . For example, social media encourages young people to have a sedentary lifestyle instead of pursuing creativity. As a result they become less interested in traditional art.

The second major factor is that they are inpatient if it comes to paintings and drawings. Moreover, they expected quick outperforms and they cannot tolerate it in the end. For example, painting requires hard work, patience and more time and if they get stuck or make a mistake finally they quit. As a result, they feel unmotivated and have a less willingness for paintings. Therefore, now many young people are less interested in traditional art.

To support teenagers for conventional art, the government should reduce academic pressure. The main reason for this, these days in school curriculum, is that they mainly focus on academic subjects such as mathematics and chemistry instead of practical skills. For example, in academic subjects students learn theory and hypothesis to clear thinking. As a result, student stress rates may increase.

In conclusion, traditional art is becoming less widely used, especially among young people. The major factors are digital entertainment and lack of patience. To encourage children to do traditional art, the government should reduce academic skills.
