Despite everything, I completely oppose this idea regarding the development of technology due to its numerous benefits in human existence.
Firstly, technology has made human life much more simpler. It has reduced the working hours for many people in different positions. No one has to work the manual and repetitive work on their own. Instead, they can ask Artificial Intelligence(AI) like ChatGPT or Gemini to do the task like grammar checking, report formatting etc, that does not need any human essence. Oxford University research on Technological impact in different demographics, published in 2018 revealed that 98% of university students take the help of AI while writing assignments, whereas 75% of the workforce leverage AI to do their everyday work in the office in the United States of America. Technology has made students and the workforce more efficient.
Furthermore, not only technology makes people work less, but it also lets people work on their passion and intellectual pursuits. For instance, only when the washing machine washes and dries the clothes or the dish washer does the task of cleaning utensils, individuals can spend their time on things like, doing art, gardening or reading. Technology helps to make people more creative and passionate about their hobbies. Market research survey done by the globally renowned electronic company named L.G. discovered that most of its customers use their free time that they get after using their home appliances, and spend their spare time following their hobbies. It also concluded that 95% of its respondents expressed their increased interest in the home appliances in the days to come.
In conclusion, technological development makes human lives more easy.Using technology for the betterment of humans itself poses no complexity, in contrast it makes lifestyles easier and convenient. Utilizing technology drives the simple and artistic life, so it should be promoted instead of aiming to use it less.
