A good education system is key to a student’s bright career. Although some believe that education can be enhanced by paying higher salaries to teachers, others think that there are also other ways to improve education. This essay will argue why I believe that teacher income cannot significantly affect learning.
Admittedly, it is argued by many people that teacher pay does not affect student learning. Additionally, because this profession is considered highly respected, students can trust their teachers implicitly. Teachers strive to spread knowledge to students regardless of the salaries they receive. Apart from this, the education system needs to invest money in classroom conditions and provide resources in computer labs and science labs. For instance, in many countries, it is thought that while parents give birth to a child, teachers are the ones who provide the child with skills and lessons to grow up as a successful person without concerning themselves with their own interests. Rather than increasing teachers’ pay, it is crucial to spend money on basic technology that students can use to learn more effectively.
However, some people believe that education can be affected by the salaries of teachers. A minority of professors may be rigid and only concerned about their own benefits. Moreover, in many schools, there is a shortage of teachers because they offer low salary packages that are insufficient to meet their expenses. For example, in 2005, at a school in Congo, many teachers quit due to low salaries. As a result, the school decided to close, leading to a wasted year for all students.
In conclusion, many teachers excel in their efforts for students’ positive development at average salaries, while some may need higher incomes to meet financial challenges. While increasing teachers’ salaries may help in some cases, it is essential to focus on improving the overall educational environment and resources available to students.
