Some people assume that the best solution to reduce crime is to impose longer prison sentences. I disagree because this problems is more solutions.
Firstly, give longer prison sentences for crime is also an effective measure to reduce crime. Beside, can decrease crime by educating and promoting social evils to citizens. When people are educated about social evils early on, it will help them become aware of the problem and avoid making mistakes. In addition, parents also need to educate children about the law from a young age so that children understand and perceive the seriousness of the law.
Secondly, if prisoner have to stay in prison for a long time without realizing the seriousness of their crimes, it will not abatement crime. Therefore, government can give strict laws, it will help social avoid social evils. Citizens will be awareness severity of crime. Beside, government needs to increase patrols and security in public places so that citizens feel safe.
In conclusion, while some people think that longer prison sentences are the most effective way to combat crime, I believe that is not the best solution, but there are many other solutions.
