Some people argue that sentencing criminals to death is the best way to reduce crime. Others believe that there are other alternatives of reducing crime. This essay agrees that the death penalty is a suitable punishment, because it keeps criminals away from society for good, and provides justice for families or victims harmed mentally and physically.
Some people think that criminals should recieve the death penalty because it could have many benifits. Firstly, it does not allow criminals to interact with society again, as well as put the community at peace knowing that they are no longer at risk of being injured. Furthermore, the victims and families harmed will be provided justice. For instance, in Saudi Arabia, criminals who rape and kill will be immediately given the death penalty.
Others believe that there are better options than the death penalty which will also have benefits to the criminal and society. Life imprisonment has advantages, such as teaching the criminal self-improvement. For instance, criminals attend daily workshops, behavioural therapy, read self-improvement books, and get rewarded for simple achievements implemented in the workshops or based on improved behaviour. On the other hand, in China, some prisons implement a way of giving justice such as torturing criminals by essentially, giving them a taste of their own medicine.
In conclusion, I fully believe that criminals who commit unforgivable crimes such as rape or murder should be sentenced to death. However, if the criminal has committed crimes such as roberry or assault, they should be given prisonment depending on the judge, until they are taught to behave otherwise.
