Band 6+: Some people think that the government is responsible for the rise in obesity in children, while others think it is the fault of the parents. Discuss both sides and give your opinion

Note: Both the topic and the essay were created by one of our users.

In recent years, the number of overweight children has increased quickly. Some people believe that the government is responsible for this problem, while others argue that parents should take the blame. This essay will discuss the both sides and I will give my opinion.

On the one hand, some people think the government plays a big role in children’s health. They think that unhealthy food is to easy buy and it’s too cheap to buy. For example, fast food and sugary drinks are sold everywhere, and there not enough rules to control them. Moreover many schools do not have enough physical exercises or healthy foods, which makes the situation very bad. If government made stricter food laws motivated more sports in schools, fewer children would become fat.

On the other hand, many people say that parents are mainly responsible. They are the ones who decide what their children eat at home and how the activity they are. Some parents left their children spend many ours to playing video games or using phones instead of going outside. In addition, parents often give their kids more junk foods because of its quick and easy to make. Therefore, parents should teach their kids to eat healthy foods and make them to do more physical activities.

In my opinion, both sides share the responsibility, but parents have a stronger influence. Governments can make rules, but only parents can control they daily habits at home. If both sides will work together, the problem of children obesity can be reduced.
