People have different opinions about whether government should prevent commiting a crime, while some argue that individuals should be responsible in protecting themselves because their lives depend on their decisions, it seems to me that government should solve problems relating to crime prevention.
On the one hand, there are several reasons why some people argue that everyone should protect themslves and relying on their actions. The first obvious reason is that individuals’ decisions relate from themselves and only they can contribute to their futures. If people are suffering from offenders or someone robs their valuable items, they can not wait until polices come and regulate the situation; therefore, people should take quick actions to prevent it. Moreover, in most countries citizens pay taxes, which cost large amount of money. However, people can spend plenty of money on medication or basic needs rather than crime prevention, which is happening even paying.
On the other hand, I agree with those who consider that government should prevent offences. Firstly, there are individuals who are disabled or have some type of problems with their health. They need people who care them and protect them because anybody have strength to theft their money or notable documents. Secondly, if there are more crimes, it will lead to controversial debates among citizens because everybody may organise disruption and to weaken country. It could therefore be argued that protection for citizens’ lives depend more on government responsibility.
In conclusion, although some people argue that defense relies on individuals, I believe that government should prioritize people’s safety.
