In current society, whether authority should provide funding for public transport or invest in improving roads and highways has aroused a debate. From my point of view, the government should spend money on public transport.
On the one hand, the government is supposed to be to invest in public transport for a variety reasons. To begin with, the public transport is environmentally-friendly. For instance, in some developed countries public transport, especially trains use electric power to move. Furthermore, with public transport there will not be any traffic. Also, moving with the public transport is more affordable and cheap.
One the other hand, there are also benefits from improving roads and highways. First and foremost, roads and highways are good way to go faster to your destination. In addition to this, although there is a traffic in highways, using vehicles for shorter destination is good choice. Also, enhancing bicycle roads has a good impact on environment, for increasing roads means increasing bicycles.
Finally, in my opinion the government should invest more money in public transport. Although vehicles are beneficial and more comfortable, public transport has affirmative impact for declining traffic and environment.
For my part, after considering the arguments above, I feel that the authority should enhance the public transport, for its environmentally-friendly effect and traffic reducing capacity.
