Band 5+: Some people think that the reduction in the number of obese people should be the responsibility of the government while others think it should be the individuals. Discuss both sides and give your opinion.

Some people believe that the growth in the number of obese people should be the responsibility of the government, at the same time others think that individuals should care about this problem. While the government can reduce unhealthy lifestyles by telling the disadvantages of obesity, it seems me that the individuals have the main role to play by exercising and curbing their appetite.

To begin with, unless people cannot curb their appetite and exercise, the government is not responsible for their diet. If people limited their diet, people would start losing weight and moderately become more and more productive. Moreover, if people started doing aerobic exercises while eating healthy food such as salads, food that is not high in fat people would burn calories at rapid speed, which then lead to burn fat. In addition, people have to observe their diet and reason, why they meet a need and why they have problems with obesity, until people do it, problems with obesity never disappear.

The government is not able to look after people’s diet and make them stop from consuming unhealthy food, but the government can make people aware of what needs people will meet if they do not think about consequences of obesity. What is more, as obesity rates increase in children, it puts them at greater risk of developing type 2 diabetes as adults. Furthermore, there are several diseases caused by obesity, such as heart failure, gout, breathing problems, some types of cancer. That is why people should reason before repeatedly consuming unhealthy food.

To conclude, if the government mentioned the most dangerous drawbacks of obesity and introduce them to society, people would stop every bad thing connected to their diet in order to prevent themselves suffering from some illnesses.
