Some people believe that the growth in the number of obese people should be the responsibility of the government; at the same time, others think that individuals should care about this problem. While the government can reduce unhealthy lifestyles by highlighting the disadvantages of obesity, it seems to me that individuals have the main role to play in exercising and curbing their appetites.
To begin with, unless people curb their appetites and exercise, the government is not responsible for their diets. If people limited their diets, they would start losing weight and become more and more productive. Moreover, if people started doing aerobic exercises while eating healthy foods, such as salads and foods that are not high in fat, they would burn calories at a rapid speed, which would then lead to burning fat. In addition, people have to observe their diets and the reasons why they meet a need and why they have problems with obesity; until people do so, problems with obesity will never disappear.
The government is not able to look after people’s diets and make them stop consuming unhealthy food, but the government can make people aware of the needs they will meet if they do not think about the consequences of obesity. What is more, as obesity rates increase in children, it puts them at greater risk of developing type 2 diabetes as adults. Furthermore, there are several diseases caused by obesity, such as heart failure, gout, breathing problems, and some types of cancer. That is why people should reason before repeatedly consuming unhealthy foods.
To conclude, if the government mentioned the most dangerous drawbacks of obesity and introduced them to society, people would stop every bad thing connected to their diets in order to prevent themselves from suffering from illnesses.
