Many people believe that visiting to foreign countries can make them more open-minded and being empathy for diverse populations. I am totally agree with this statement as visiting new places and national allows people to experience different things.
First of all, entering new country helps people learn about different ways of life. Traveling exposes you to diverse cultures, challenges you to learn new languages, and allows you to observe the daily routines of people from various backgrounds. This helps you realize that your way of living is not the only way. Meeting local people in real life also stops you from believing bad rumors that you might see on the internet or television.
However, traveling abroad does not always change the way a person thinks. Many tourists stay only in expensive hotels or guided tour buses, which separates them from real cultural experiences. When travelers avoid talking to locals or constantly compare foreign habits to their own, they fail to learn anything useful. As a result, shallow or careless tourism does very little to build true open-mindedness or global understanding.
In conclusion, I agree that traveling abroad has great potential to make people more understanding and tolerant. However, this personal change only happens when travelers step outside their comfort zones, talk directly with local communities, and learn about new cultures with no biased .
