It makes no doubt that nowadays there are a lot of old buildings which cost a substantial amount of money to repair whenever it comes to repair, this is obviously understandable. However, many people assumed that those old buildings should be knocked down and build modern ones instead.
Generally, there are plenty of aged buildings at everywhere, especially at urban and big cities. At some points, the public will find it pretty stupid to not demolish those old structure completely and instead of that build the new one as the cost for both of them is nearly equivalent. Apparently, there are various reasons. To be honest, some old buildings present historic events in the past such as a symbol to declare for victory against the enemies, the success of protecting the country, cultural meanings and so on. Which means they don’t have any permission to destroy or just simply rebuild it with a better appearance and reduce the cost. More importantly, those ancient buildings also play significant roles, they all certainly attract a plenty amount of tourists around the world to visit the country, this has a huge contribution to the economy of that specific country as well. On the other hands, some other buildings such as hotel, homestay, school, hospital and even more should be rebuilt instead of rennovation as the price to rennovate an old building is awfully expensive, and surely the quality won’t be as good as rebuilding the new one.
In conclusion, some old buildings which have remarkable meanings shouldn’t be rebuilt or destroyed, people should just simply repair it. But other old buildings should merely be destroyed and rebuilt as they don’t play any role at all.
