In contemporary society, a considerable number of individuals have argued that the development of children’s abilities is more positively influenced by traditional games than up-to-date ones. From my perspective, I partly agree with this standpoint, as both types are effective for the development of children.
To begin with, it is essential to acknowledge the benefits of old-school games. First and foremost, most traditional games require physical activities and full-body movements for example, jogging and climbing are necessary for hide and seek players. Therefore, participation in this kind of game effectively improves physical fitness. Secondly, traditional games are generally played in groups, forstering face-to-face interation, teamwork and cooperation. As a result, children who usually take part in old-school games often meet opportunities to develop social and emotional abilities, for example, interacting with peers helps children deeply understand different perspectives and characters.
On the other hand, modern games play a crucial role in child development. Initially, trendy games, for instance, online games are hugely related to technology; therefore, if children are given early chances to approach this field through digital games, it will significantly enhance intelligence level and digital literacy. Besides, modern games on the internet have globally lessened both geographical and language barriers. Consequently, children from different nations can interact with foreigners, which leads to cultural exchange, better communication, and cultural variety.
In a nutshell, both modern and traditional games positively contribute to the development of abilities. From my viewpoint, it would be great for children to choose their favorite games based on their personalities and hobbies.
