Some people believe that it is impossible to become fluent in a language without living or working in a country where it is spoken. I partly agree with this opinion because although living abroad is very helpful it is not the only way to achieve fluency.
On the one hand, staying in a foreign country gives learners a great opportunity to practise the language every day. They communicate with native speakers while shopping, studying, or working, which helps them improve their speaking and listening skills. In addition, constant exposure to the language makes it easier to learn correct pronunciation and natural expressions. As a result, people often become more confident and fluent in a short period of time.
On the other hand, it is also possible to become fluent without going abroad. Nowadays, many online resources such as language learning app videos, podcasts, and online classes are available. Learners can practise speaking with native speakers through video calls and social media. Moreover, if a person is motivated and studies regualarly, they can reach a high level of fluency. For example, many students learn English successfully by watching movies, reading a e-books, and communicatind with friends online.
In conclusion, although living or working in another country can help people learn a language faster, it is not essential. With strong motivation and consistent practice, learners can become fluent even in their own country.
