The debate about whether youngsters should adhere to customs of the society or behave independently sparked a significant discussion. A group of individuals believe that traditions are an integral part of a country, and must be respected by everyone. While others assume that people, especially younger, should act as they want such as an individual. From where i stand, pursuing traditions is a vital milestone both for the people and the country.
On the one hand, there can be a myriad of reasons why people ignore traditional habits, and want to behave freely. To begin, because of advancements in technology and digital dependency, youngsters are not familiar with the meaning of traditions, or the underlying reasons behind them. A glaring example of this can be Generation Z where humans from this group mention that instead of following any traditions, they might spend their time for other activities such as gaming. Another point worth considering might be an article published in “The Scientists,” a leading newspaper in London, studies have shown that traditions appear to be outdated and baseless for younger people, so they avoid applying them. I firmly believe that following traditions, which represent history, might influence their mindset positively.
On the other hand, the rest of people assume that young people should follow the traditions of society. They include that traditions might demonstrate cultural identity, heritage, and history of a society, and keeping them can impact their countries’ reputation on an unprecedented scale. For example, according to several survey results, when youngsters stick to their roots and traditions, they become able to represent their country worldwide. Additionally, traditions are generally passed from generation to generation because of their meaning and importance. For example, on New Year’s Eve, people celebrate their new year by following their traditions, such as making New Year trees and cooking delicious meals. From my point of view, people have to be honest about their traditions and keep them alive.
Taking everything into account, although views differ about whether individuals should behave autonomously or adopt their traditions, I strongly guess that humans might follow their customs not only to respect them but also to present them to the whole world.
