Some part of the community believe that in order to form children’s skills, exposing them with conventional games are more effective than modern games. I personally disagree with this statement, since modern games are more complex than conventional games. Otherwise, it can be integrated into school lessons, allowing children to stay longer in studying.
Playing computer games to some extent is more complex than traditional games. For instance, a game called Piano Tales (a game that resembles playing piano) requires a quick response from hand and brain because players must click moving notes precisely and accurately in order to win the challenge. Due to the demands of simultaneous responses, it will train children’s brains to act and respond quickly to rapid movements, boosting their critical thinking. Furthermore, due to the inclusion of classical music, children who intend to be a musician will harvest a great benefit from this game because it is more fun and enjoyable rather than attending a musical class.
On the other hand, modern games are often associated with computer games, so they can be integrated into school subjects. For example, an application called Count Your Number is a game that basically uses mathematics to solve a challenge. The challenge can involve completing a series of numbers with a given sequence. If children could find a correct answer, they will be directed to the higher level which more difficult than the previous one. The music and well-designed platform will encourage children to study math enjoyably. Therefore integrating games to learning will boost children’s performance more significantly..
In conclusion, playing modern games serves a wider benefit for children. Its complexity allows children’s brains to think quickly. Otherwise, integrating school subjects like math will encourage students to enjoy studying math.
