Undoubtedly, the concern about gender’s equality has significantly increased compared to the past. It is predominantly considered by some individuals that accepting equal numbers of men and women students in all subjects should be mandatory in colleges. However, the majority of individuals are against it. The perspective of both sides will be discussed in this essay, along with my viewpoint.
Perusing the statement and expressing the unobjectionable reasons, the first and foremost is that if universities will accept equal numbers of men and women in every field, this will ensure the women empowerment. In the modern era, in many societies, women are underprivileged owing to men’s dominance in many fields. For example, if females have equal opportunities of education field, they will not feel deprived and will compete with men, which can help them boost their confidence level. In another factor which is also considerable is that in some nations, many individuals who believe in religious do want only girl which has become the cause of concern for unequal sex ratio in the society. If universities accept equal numbers of students of both genders, the discrimination would be greatly reduced in the society.
On the other hand, there are also many people who held opposite argument. Initially, in many workplaces and study fields, where work needs more strength, which women are not. According to the physology experts, men have more strength and strong stamina as compared to women, and so females always show less interest in these kinds of fields. Furthermore, university education should be based on not only talent but also performance because if people are more interested in any eduaction field, they are more likely to concentrate on work. For instance, in nursing field, women are much suitable for nursing job because females have more patience rather than males.
To conclude, although choosing subjects based on talent and performance has some positive impacts, I believe that women’s discrimination will reduce if universities start accepting equal men and women students in every subject.
