Some individuals believe that institutions should allow both males and females in equal numbers in each subject while others are against this concept because they think this is not an applicable strategy. I agree with the other school of thought.
Firstly, all the academic institutes have their own methods of accepting students depending upon the number of seats available per subject. All the learners have subject preference which means which subject they want to apply in. For instance, most of the males opt computer science as they are interested in IT for software development and programming while females are inclined to science subjects. Considering that, criteria should be open merit to give equal opportunity not equal number to each candidate.
Another aspect is that, there are some quota based policies which give right to the minorities to have an equal chance of getting accepted in a learning hub. Such as, in Pakistan, few seats are reserved for disabled scholars, even distribution is made province wise, allocating some seats for Punjab and KPK.
On the contrary, another group of people is in favor of equal number of acceptance for both genders. They believe that this step will give them an equal chance of getting admission in their desired universities because males are lacking behind compared to females and this affects the education ratio of male members countrywide.
To sum up, both views of people have positives and negatives. What I believe is that agreeing on equal number of males and females is not an outstanding strategy.
