There are multiple approaches for people to get a good job. Having a university degree has been seen as the most effective way for some people to get a good job. Meanwhile, others believe that skills and experience are more important in this context. I personally think that both approaches are equally important in order to get a good job for a living.
A lot of people from educated backgrounds think that a university degree can afford you a good job effectively. They argue that if we get a university degree, it will be easier for us to get good jobs, such as software engineers, managers, professors, and even CEOs. Getting a university degree allows us to possess the skills and experience needed for the job. Additionally, the learning process to get the degree helps the students to improve their ability to adapt to situations and to find solutions. Furthermore, a lot of big companies require us to have a degree to get accepted for a good job and some of them build partnerships with multiple universities. If we do not have a university degree, we will have less chance to be accepted by the companies.
On the other hand, a lot of commoners suggest that skills and experience could bring a larger impact in finding these kinds of jobs. Focusing more on those things makes adapting to the working world easier. They argue that in the working space, you need to be high skilled and experienced to get a better job. Moreover, a lot of big companies were started by someone who didn’t graduate from a university, the example is Mark Zuckerberg, who dropped out from his college and went on to own Meta’s, which has been one of the biggest companies in the world. In addition, those two aspects are viewed by big companies as the most important aspect in recruiting a new employee.
While having a university degree will help you to get a good job, since a lot of big companies only accepted those who have it, we also need to focus on the skills and experience in order to be familiar with the working world and securing the job that we really want. In conclusion, a balance between these two approaches is necessary in order to get our dream job.
