The issues related to children’s education remain a much debated question and many people believe that students should have full-time education until they are at least 18 years old. While in some situations, it is undeniable that full-time education benefits students, however, I totally disagree with this view and I am inclined to believe that its drawbacks surpass its merits generally.
Admittedly, education is a solid foundation for any further progression and development of children and full-time educati
zon enables them to focus better on academic education, ensures basis knowledge and basic social skills for teenagers before getting into life. Before the age of 18, many students are not enough mature and continuing to leaarn helps improve awareness, critical thinking and social communication ability. Moreover, full-time education also helps to decrease the unemployment rates in adolescents. Therefore, it is true to say that full-time education play an indispensable role in children’s education.
Nonetheless, forcing students to have full-time education until they are at least 18 years old have many disadvantages. First of all, it can cause unnecessary financial and psychological pressure for students opt for vocational training or want to go to work early to supporrt family. Forcing them to learn theoretical knowledge can lead to boredom, dropout or burnout. Furthermore, in some particular fields, employees are not only required to have theoretical knowledge but also hannds-on experiences and practical experiments. For example, some occupations such as doctors, lawyers and surgeons, to become a qualified ones and can practice directly, they have to devote many years to gain khowledge from predecessors and to be on probation to improve their skills.
In conclusion, although full-time education facilitates children in terms of basic knowledge and skills, I maintains that its drawbacks outweigh the benefits. And education only is not enough, especially when today’s labor market is becoming increasingly competitive and harsh, students have to equip themselves with essential skills, willing to face with challenges and adapt to changes in the future career path.
