Certain people focus more on work than others. This essay will discuss the main reason for that and state an opinion if this is a negative or positive trend. I believe that dedication to work is a generally positive trend as companies and we as society clearly benefit from exceptional performance of specific people.
One of the main reasons why people put more energy into work is the focus to rapidly climb up the career-ladder. Hard work is often rewarded with promotions and other benefits like a bonus or higher salaries. People who choose to concentrate on work clearly pursue certain career goals. For instance, at my company it is possible to get promoted in less time if the specific employee is ambitious and significantly contributes to the company’s goals and objectives.
People who put much effort into their work do not only generate benefits for theirselfes but also for our society. Firstly, a great performance is the base for enhancements of certain projects or the invention of novel products. Secondly, since high performing employees are often compensated with salaries, their amount of taxes paid is also higher and so our society can use the extra money to make investments in healthcare or education. For example, employees working at NASA are mostly hard-working and high performing people. Without their dedication certain achievements in space discovery would not have been possible for mankind.
In conclusion, hard work remains to be a swift way to reach career goals and I believe that our society benefits from people who are dedicated to their work, as their high performance often leads to new advances with regards to inventions or projects.
