Nowadays, everyone can choose a different type of occupation for themselves. In this regard, a portion of the population prefer to establish their own workplaces rather than becoming laborers to others. There are some reasons and demerits in this approach.
On the one hand, several various causes would cultivate this idea in the people’s mind. First, self-employment enables individuals to be independent. In other words, self-employed people manage all the tasks by themselves without feeling obliged to explain their actions to others. For example, they can make a decision for the time of being retired or taking a leave at any time they desire. In addition, these employers will earn their own money. To explain more, when people earn money in their exclusive and private offices, this will allow them to harvest money with no trouble and no regular requests from anyone. Thus, this act will result in having self-governing workers who can manage their budget.
On the other hand, there are some cons in this opinion. To elaborate, setting up a new business has considerable risks. This is associated with two main reasons. For one, maybe not everyone who has a tendency to run a new business has sufficient capital, which might put them in trouble. For instance, in such cases, a lack of a reasonable budget may lead to obtaining a loan from banks and recipients will be obliged to repay that money under any circumstances, regardless of the prosperity or failure of their business. So, if they go bankrupt, they could not return their borrowed funds and this likely put them in a detrimental condition. Furthermore, lack of knowledge and expertise are the next causes. To put it simply, founding a novel office or a factory requires a particular knowledge and methods, which are necessary factors for creating jobs. To explain more, entrepreneurs, at least, should be aware of basic principles and sciences which they will be requested to utilize for leading their occupations. For example, when a founder has the intention to establish a livestock farm, he must have numerous information about domestic animals and the way of their preservation. Hence, two of the main disadvantages of starting a business, would be shortage of money and knowledge.
In conclusion, self-employment encounters people with several disadvantages, which sometimes can cause them trouble, while it may have a lot of beneficial reasons for individuals that will urge them to take action and do it anyway.
