Cultural traditions are an important part of society. However, there is debate about preserve and destruction. A group of individuals believe that changing traditions as tourism object gives a financial chance to save, others claim it destroys original of traditions. There are advantages and disadvantages for both of the argument.
To begin with, one of the main arguments is that tourism gives economic benefits when they are used as tourist attractions. Many traditional arts, dances and festivals preserve their existence to be interesting. If visitors spent money to buy handcrafts and to look at play, artists and performers can continue their work. Moreover, tourism increase interest different cultures and it encourages young generations to save these traditional cultures.
On the other hand, using cultural traditions as touristic has negative effect. When cultural traditions altered to attract tourists, they can lose original meaning. In addition, massive tourism can cause to exploitation of cultural symbols. I believe a balanced approach is necessary.
To sum up, tourism has both positive and negative effect on cultural traditions. It also provides making money and promote awareness, while it can cause altering customs for commercial gain. So, governments and cultural organizations should regulate to present customs. Because it is necessary to save their orjinality.
