Advantage And Disadvantage

Band 6+: Some say that it would be better if the majority of employees worked from home instead of travelling to a workplace every day. Do you think the advantages of working from home outweigh the disadvantages? Give reasons for your answer and include any relevant examples from your own knowledge or experience.

Companies have modified their work policies to adapt to the life circumstance of their employees in this fast-paced society. Workers are now offered an option to work from home which is being enjoyed by some while others find their work condition a drawback. I am one of those who believe that accomplishing company tasks at home will benefit the workers more given that the coverage of their job does not need a face-to-face interaction.

It can be argued that that the disadvantages of the work-from-home program is that an employee needs to motivate herself to work. This is because the mindset of being at home is to relax and rest resulting to a low productivity rate compared to those employees who are within the workplace.

Nevertheless, there are job holders who enjoy this flexible work arrangement more than commuting to the office every day. Their most valuable reason is the time they can spend with their family. Most of the jobs in this alternative work strategy are based on output, therefore a work-life balance is feasible. Labourers will have a chance to attend family ocacasions or school events of their children. Being presnt at home will also provide opportunities to bond with other family members.

Convenience and practicality are the assets of working from home. There is no need to spend hours in preparing and in getting stuck in traffic. There is also no need to pay for the gasoline or fare. An employee will just open her laptop and proceed to work right away.

In conclusion, a work from home policy is far more advantageous than the conventional traveling to the office arrangement. Families are given more time together and once can work with great comfort with less money spent.
