In today’s world, there is an ongoing debate on whether music, art and drama are essential subjects and cannot be underestimated. In my opinion, I totally disagree with this statement because in some cases children spend pointlessly, and school do not teach real life challenges.
One of the reasons associated with this topic is spending time pointlessly. That is because children have their own perspectives and, in some cases, their goals are not related to these specific subjects. For example, as I was a kid, I did not use to like music, art and drama. However, I was adept in math, and these subjects were time consuming, and they were lowering my performance. Therefore, I was having troubles in academic subjects. This leads to overload in education for children.
Another vital argument related to this topic is that these subjects are not preparing us for adult life. In some cases it can be helpful to open some creative skills of a child, but when the kid grow up, these subjects will not help him with life problems. For example, if a kid wants to become an accountant, and he spends much time on minor things, he will not become a professional in his sphere. This is due to overload in unnecessary skills that he will not use in the future.
In conclusion, while this topic can bring many advantages, I think that these subjects are not for everyone and have a lot of disadvantages, like time overload and lack of preparation for the adult life problems
