In the last two decades, technology has advanced in every field, as the way of living. Nowadays there is debate going on a living in skyscrapers, one fraction of mankind believes that living in such buildings is stressful and makes people feel dejected. However, other people opine that staying in tall buildings is beneficial. In this essay, I will discuss both the view and give my opinion.
The first and foremost advantage of living in a high-rise apartment is high construction is getting fresh air and less noise pollution. As polluted air density is high compared to normal air, it spreads at ground level, and because of this people who live on high get fresh air and better air circulation than ground floors. Apart from this, the noise of traffic and other elements is negligible on top floors, which provides property holders with a peaceful and calm environment for living. The second benefit of staying in skyscrapers is more privacy and security. This kind of building has strict policies about individual’s private-ness and security of their family as well as properties, which make people feel more secure and independent. For Instance, one survey conducted by government agencies depicts that 30 percent less robbery happens in skyscrapers as compared to normal houses.
Furthermore, Living in high-rise apartments is not always advantageous, it also has some drawbacks. The first disadvantage is people get depressed as no one around them to socialize. In addition, most people living in such buildings do not know their neighbors and are not able to know and share things with others. Which eventually, leads them to depression and shut down from society. Another downside of it is the high maintenance cost. For example, this kind of building takes high service charges from property holders such as security charges, property repair charges and many others.
To recapitulate the discussion; in my opinion, the advantages of living in a high-rise complex outweigh its drawbacks. Because security and privacy as well as a pure and calm environment are one of the necessities for every human being. Although, it’s come at a high price but it can be affordable.
