There has been a trend that many pupils will have an opportunity to find a job or take a rest by travelling after finishing high school and before entering university. Some have opined that in the field of adult life, working experience has more positive effect than journey the world. I total agree with this statement.
On the one hand, it cannot be denied that students take time to travel around before starting university could be beneficial for them. Firstly, this chance can help them broaden their horizons and gain new perpectives. To be more specific, they can acquire deeper insight into new cultures and exposure to different ways of living and thinking by travelling. Consequently, they are more likely to have a better understand themselves and the world around them, becoming more well-rounded individuals. Furthermore, this is a great time for them to refresh their mind, and recharge concentration and motivation for studying. With a comfortable and willing attitude, undergraduates can acquire knowledge more effectively in comparison with those who go to university right away.
On the other hand, there are convincing reasons why some opine that youngsters should be encouraged to find a job after finishing high school. One of the most important things student can get through working life is accumulation of life experience. In other words, they can learn new skills by working such as their communication skills, time and financial management and problem-solving skills are often strengthened by cooperating with others to fulfil tasks at work. These competencies can be beneficial in preparing for college and future career. Moreover, working with other people who are experts in a particular field can give these newcomers not only an understanding of the job but also valuable practical lessons to help them become more mature so that they could find it easier to overcome difficulties when they encounter problems later on. In addition, undergoing several different jobs can help them identify a suitable career path in later life. For example, Vietnamese high school students who finish their formal schooling can have a chance to experience a lot of jobs such as waiters, teacher assistants, or bikers. As a result, they would know what types of jobs they would prefer to do in the future.
In conclusion, it is advisable for student to work or travel after high school since it can enhance their life experiences and enables them to learn crucial skills. However, I consider it is more beneficial that high school graduates should take time to experience the real world by working.
