Some people think that after school students should travel or work before they go to university. I think working before university is better for adult life because students get real experience. I agree with this idea and I will explain why.
First, when young people start work, they learn about money. Many students don’t know how much things cost. If they work in a shop or cafe, they understand that money is hard to earn. This is very important lesson for life. Also, they meet different people at work. Working with adults teach them how to be responsible. When they finally go to university, they act more mature than student who just finish school and start studying immediately.
Second, work experience help in future career. If a student have a job on their resume, it look good for future employers. They already know how to follow rules and how to work in a team. For example, my friend worked for one year before university. He learned how to communicate with customers and he was very confident during his studies. He did not afraid of challenges.
Some people prefer to travel because they think it opens the mind. I agree that travel is good, but it is expensive and maybe not very useful for professional skills. Work is more practical because you can save money for your education.
In conclusion, I believe that working is better than travelling before university. Young people learn value of money, responsibility and get useful skills. This helps them prepare for real world and be more successful later in life. It is good choice for every young person.
