Band 5+: Some think that kids can learn productively by viewing TV and they ought to be encouraged to view TV both in the home and at school. To what extent do you agree or disagree?

Note: Both the topic and the essay were created by one of our users.

Some people believe that youngsters can be educated through watching TV and they should be motivated to watch TV both in the home and at school.I totally disagree with this statement because television cannot replace interactive teaching methods and regular watching may negatively affect their vision.

One of the reasons I disagree that television cannot be an alternative for the traditional teaching method. That is to say, in schools, children learn in a interactive environment where teachers explain lessons, monitor progress and correct their mistakes in some cases. This way of communication helps children to stay engaged and improve their critical thinking. Besides, they will be among friends which also helps in both their studying and growth. This is because they learn humanity as they are studying in a class among many peers. For example, in countries like Canada and Germany, many educational institutions focus more on traditional teaching rather that television and online course to ameliorate the educational growth in a state .

Moreover, long periods of watch time can have detrimental effects on children’s overall well-being. It may damage their eyesight and limit physical movements.Consequently, children who spend more time in front of screens less likely to develop healthy habits: they may grow depend on screens for education and entertainment. That is why, many parents avoid this from children’s daily life and tries to educate them in ordinary schools.

In conclusion, I do not support the idea of studying through television and motivating kids to do that . This is because , it can not replace the typical schooling and cause some harms on children’s health.
