It is widely believed that space exploration is an integral endeavor which all countries should pursue. While some argue that there are other pressing problems on earth which demand immediate attention. I will discuss both these prospective before presenting my opinion.
To begin with, one of the most compelling arguments why space exploration should be accelerated by the countries despite the exorbitant costs it involves is the discovery of novel technologies. According to the scientific researches, rare valuable metals might be found on various other planets that can boost the economy of the nation. To justify, SpaceX led by Elon Musk (an American entrepreneur) is working on space program where they can generate energy in space and send the same energy in abundance on earth. If this comes true, it can provide uninterrupted flow of energy to the whole world at an affordable cost.
Nevertheless, critics argue that there are far more urgent crisis on Earth including Hunger, inadequate education and Healthcare facilities, natural calamities and worst of all global warming which can lead to a catastrophic harm if left unattended. The core purposes of Space exploration program is to discover something that isn’t available on planet earth, however there are significant predicaments to be adressed on Earth first, focusing too much on space programs may hamper the lives of common people.
In my opinion, under developed nations should focus more on mankind’s fundamental needs rather than spending hugely on space exploration and leave this on developed countries to invest heavily on this.
Therefore, it is crucial for all the countries to focus extensively on present human needs. Although, space exploration program can not be overlooked as it ensures a good life.
