Avoidance of science stream at university by majority of the learners all over the globe is the current occurrence. It can be the possibility of diverse interest of scholars and arduous concepts of science. It has several adverse influence on the society such as less availability of experts and slow development of nations.
To commence with the prominent factors of this phenomenon, the first and foremost is soaring interest in other subjects. To justify it, educatees no longer desire to select the subjects that they are not interested in or that are forced upon them, they rather prefer to opt for courses that gives them purpose to study as they have set clear goals of profession they want to work in. For example, some of the students are inclined towards setting up their own enterprise so they learn business management at universities. Thus, pupils are aware about job preferences since the beginning. Another reason is vast and challenging syllabus of science. Hence, science is only selected by students that are exceptional in it.

As a result, few inventions and discoveries might be seen in the future. Apart from it, it will affect the medical field as well. To explain it, science is crucial to study medicines and had it not been for science, people would still be suffering from ailments. Because of medical advancement, individuals enjoy healthy life and have longer life expectancy than before. Therefore, these benefits may fade away if students discontinue studying science as leaners must have a better insight of it in order to achieve medical breakthrough.
