Band 5+: Students should pay the full cost of their own study because university education benefits individual rather than society. To what extent do you agree or disagree?

Note: Both the topic and the essay were created by one of our users.

In this day and age, it is believe that tertiary education has advantage only individuals, therefore the full tuition fee should be paid by students entering university. From my own perspective as a university juniour, I personally think that government should offer free tuition to the students and I strongly disagree with the idea

On the one hand, with government financing all tuition fee, burden for freshmen college or university students will be reduce, which is really helpful, especially those who was born with poverty. If the government supports their educational expenditures, they can focus more on study and widen their knowledge without worrying about the fees, which will help benefit the country. In particularly, high academic scholarships should be encourage by the government to help motivated student to study better.

On the other hand, it is perfectly reasonable for government to pay the full fee for students. It is true that students learn academic knowledge for personal gains and benefits. But in the future, after graduation, students will be the main labor force for the countries and it will help with progress of modernize and development. Furthermore, no matter what position they take, they will return the money that the government invested in them earlier by making a significant tax contribution to the country that would be used for future investment in social protection issues.

To sum up, for all the reason mentioned above, I believe that students should be provided free education courses by the government. It will help students receive equal education and benefit their countries in the future.
